Ex David Davis aide says Boris Johnson should be in JAIL as he warns that leaving the EU would be a catastrophe

''A former top aide to David Davis has said Boris Johnson should be jailed over his Brexit claims in an extraordinary Twitter outburst.

James Chapman, the former chief of staff to the Brexit Secretary, said leaving the EU will be a 'catastrophe' that will harm Britain.

He called for pro EU MPs to form a new, centrist party and push through another referendum to reverse last year's historic vote.

And he suggested Mr Johnson should be hauled into prison over his claims that £350million a week could be pumped into the NHS after we quit the EU. 

Mr Chapman, who went to work for Mr Davis shortly after the referendum vote and quit during the recent election, unleashed the angry outburst in a series of Twitter posts.
